     Hopefully the information on this website will provide some knowledge of not only the type of records that are available, in Ireland, but also some idea as to what they may contain. In a number of instances the actual sources are given but in other cases they are not. This is a private business and a website is like a shop window. Whether it is for the purposes of genealogy or history a small sample is given of the type of records that can be searched, for a fee, for a particular purpose.
    In the case of paid research the Client should, in addition to the actual information requested if found, be given the details of the particular sources as well as acknowledging the repository and/or person or persons who supplied the information. Besides this being a requirement for professional genealogists who are members of APG (CLICK HERE) it also helps to make, in one small area of life, for a more civilized society.

Research was aided by a large family tree on a Piers Murphy of Stonefield, Oldcastle, County Meath, and his Maloney descendants in Dundalk, County Louth, that was published by the late Canice O'Mahony (died 12 February 2014). It appeared in an article entitled the Genealogy of a North Louth Family, County Louth Archaeological and Historical Society Journal, volume XVIII, no.2, pages 105-109 (1974).
     The Murphy side of this family tree recently appeared on The Genealogy Roadshow on RTE television on 25 May 2014.
